Who is Malek Berry?!
For those of you familiar with the Afro Beat scene, Malek Berry is a name you’ve seen on your playlist for some time. His vocal style, swagger, and cool video visuals has placed him on the map and in the hearts of girls world wide. Cachet Digital caught up with him at a recent LA performance and grabbed a few cool flicks.
Maleek Berry is edgy and all of his songs have a feel good vibe. For party goers and dance floor divas, his music creates the perfect platform for a high energy round on the dance floor at your local Afrobeat club. One of my favorite all time songs is his collaboration with WizKid for hit track Matter.
The Afrobeat scene in Los Angeles is thriving and has grown leaps and bounds over the past half a decade. Savoy Fridays use to be one of the only venues to listen to good African tunes but a number of other African music related events are popping up in increasing numbers such as Afropolitan’s Afrolituation. The event series bring hot edgy Afrobeat artist to the LA area every few weeks for a fun and high energy club meets concert night. Attendees can buy regular tickets or bottle service. Face painting, good food, and Afrobeat tunes mixed with hip hop as well as trap music help create a must attend event for those who love African music but also enjoy the urban club scene as well.
