Dapero is a product of his creative juices and features artistic mugs and iPhone cases. He has used his artwork aesthetic to make a cohesive collection that is modern and edgy which relies heavy on geometric shapes and lines. Wesley talks balancing fatherhood, his life influences as well as his side pursuit—modeling. We like Wesley because he’s a hustler who is chasing his dreams but is still takes his role as a father very seriously. Huntsville, Alabama definitely has talent. How do you balance the demands of fatherhood and being an entrepreneur?
I always looked up to Kevin Hart on that, I think if he can be an actor, comedian, model and all yet still have time for his family, I think anyone can do it. So I ALWAYS make sure I make and have time for my kids no matter what I’m doing or how busy I may be.
How did you first start branding items with your artwork?
I had actually quit my job to follow my goals and dreams fully. One day while on the internet I came across this company in California. I have now partnered with that company, which turned out to be amazing in giving by giving me the opportunity to release things that I wasn’t even thinking about like iPhone cases, Pillows and more…
What influences have helped to shape you as a person?
The people that I looked up to the most would have to be Rick Ross, P. Diddy and Jay Z when it comes to business and investing. Kevin Hart when it comes to balancing work and family. And Yeahlano when it comes to following your dream without giving a care in the world about anyone who has anything negative to say.
Tell us a bit about what you’ve done with modeling:
I started modeling about 2 ½ years ago and have been doing runway about a year ago. I love both, I take both of them just as serious and I want to succeed at them both. My goals with modeling are to soon be able to model for NYFW, H&M and also GQ.
Where do you envision the Dapero brand in 5 years?
I honestly plan to have stores in California, New York, Atlanta, Florida and where I’m currently located which is Alabama. Not only that——I want the world to know about Dapero.
Who is the Dapero consumer?
Everyone, I want Dapero products to be something that you want to buy because you love to have at your house or to wear it. Not just to “support” me as an individual.
And for our lady readers who want to know more about the man behind the brand… What do you look for in a woman:
I guess you could consider me a goal digger. I love a woman that has goals set for herself. A woman that I can build something with and grow with, not only physically but mentally.
What sets a woman apart from the rest?
A woman that carries herself with class and self respect. Thats something that’s definitely a plus. Nowadays it’s becoming harder and harder to find a woman with morals and values.
